Under the Last Will and Testament of the late Dorothy J. Killam, four Trustees are in office at any one time. The four original Trustees, all now deceased, were: Donald N. Byers, QC, Managing Trustee and Mrs. Killam's personal solicitor; Conrad F. Harrington, Chairman of the Royal Trust Company; G. Arnold R. Hart, President of Bank of Montreal; and Major General the Hon. E.C. ("Johnny") Plow, Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia.

The Trustees presently in office are:

John H. Matthews, LLD, Toronto. Mr. Matthews is a former CEO and Director of RBC Trust Company, and General Manager and Director of the Bermuda Trust Company. He is now an independent consultant and company director. In addition, Mr. Matthews is a Member of the Investment Committee of the Canada Council for the Arts; Director, MD Private Trust Company; and Treasurer, Society of Saint John the Evangelist.

John S. Montalbano, CFA, Vancouver. Mr. Montalbano is President of Phillips, Hager & North Investment Management, and has been with the firm for 20 years. PH&N manages over $66 billion in assets, and is one of Canada’s largest independent money management firms. The firm is headquartered in Vancouver, with offices in Toronto, Montreal, Calgary and Victoria

M. Ann McCaig, CM, AOE, LLD, Calgary. Mrs. McCaig is a corporate director and is also active in charitable fundraising and philanthropy. She is a Director of Suncor Energy Inc.; Chair of the Alberta Adolescent Recovery Centre; and Co-Chair of the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation's current $50 million Campaign. She is Chancellor Emeritus of The University of Calgary.

George T.H. Cooper, CM, QC, LLD, Halifax. Mr. Cooper is Senior Partner with McInnes Cooper, an Atlantic Canada law firm. He is a former Member of Parliament and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Justice of Canada. Mr. Cooper is a corporate lawyer; director of a number of companies; trustee of a number of Canadian-based foundations; and Chairman of the Board of Governors, University of King's College, Halifax. He is the Managing Trustee of the Killam Trusts.
